AAIAC supports option 3 – the implementation of an HSE endorsed scheme of accreditation, broadly along the lines of the best elements of licensing, Adventuremark (its approved schemes and direct entry) and the LOtC Quality Badge. Such a scheme should cost no more than HSE’s projected licensing costs. The scheme should not be constrained in its scope (i.e. open to all providers and inclusive of all adventure activities).
The scheme should be operated on a “not for profit basis” and should be governed by a representative industry body across the Home Nations (with input from HSE).
