Applications are invited for the membership of the Adventure Activities Industry Advisory Committee (AAIAC). http://www.aaiac.org AAIAC is a lead body within the sector for safety in adventure activities. It is representative of a wide range of stakeholders from the UK adventure activities sector.

It delivers:

  • Safety Accreditation: taking a coordinating role in safety accreditation of adventurous activity and managing, developing and growing Adventuremark.
  • Representation: being a contact point for Government and other agencies in the areas of safety, risk management and good practice.
  • Guidance: being a point of contact for all stakeholders, sharing good practice, developing standards and guidance
     

AAIAC has recently been reconstituted to provide accountability to a UK-wide range of outdoor organisations and has been slimmed down to ten members. Applications are invited for three places. Those appointed will serve for a period of three years, with members eligible for re-appointment for a further three years.

All members of AAIAC offer their services on a voluntary basis. Work of the committee will be carried out by email communication, phone or video conferencing as well as three face to face meetings per year. Please note that no funds are currently available to reimburse travel expenses to attend AAIAC meetings but we do support members representing AAIAC at other meetings.

The AAIAC Council is the body of representative organisations who oversee the election of AAIAC members and its work plan. Current Council representation:
